Hoang-Dan Pham

Hoang-Dan Pham, (aka Gối) is a multidisciplinary artist. With a background in graphic design and applied arts, she works at the intersection of image and object, blending bold visual language with everyday functionality. Her recent transition into ceramics is not a break from design, but an expansion of it — exploring how the spirit of graphic art can live within tactile, three-dimensional forms.

Still early in her journey with clay, Hoang-Dan approaches the material with curiosity rather than tradition. Her works are informed by the constraints of urban life: small spaces, shared rooms, and the emotional compression of city living. In response, she creates sculptural objects that are compact yet expressive — pieces that reclaim presence in overlooked corners.

Recurring interests in her practice include personal space, female identity, and the surreal logic of daily life. Whether in clay or on paper, her works blur the line between utility and metaphor — suggesting that art can be both playful and purposeful, both intimate and quietly defiant.
