For about twenty years I have been working artistically – starting autodidactically and continuously deepening my skills through further training at academies such as Bad Reichenhall, Augsburg as well as at the Alanus Werkhaus of the Alanus University in Alfter and the printmaking workshop in the Bernardbau in Offenbach.
In my paintings and prints – especially in oil, acrylic, and watercolor painting, as well as etching – I work abstractly and expressively. The creative process is characterized by layering, condensation, and revelation. Paint is moved, shifted, and partially removed. In this way, I concentrate energy and emotion in the image – not as a narrative statement, but as an immediate, physically tangible presence.
Central motifs in my work are archaic symbols, but also pristine landscapes. They do not necessarily appear as representational depictions, but rather as tectonic pictorial spaces, fields of color, and structured layers. These forms represent permanence and duration, but also change, erosion, and inner movement. The images oscillate between stillness and tension, between stability and dissolution.
