Pasquale Natale

I remenber I was just a child, spending a random afternoon at my grandparent's house, when my uncle, pencil in his hand and a sheet of paper on his lap, showed me how to draw a horse's head. I was immediately captivated by his skills and by how easily the horse become alive inside my mind. Something that was non-existent before, now was galloping at full speed in my imagination. That was pure witchcraft! I then decided I would pursue that same exaltation of creation for the rest of my life.

So, after a master's degree in painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Naples and many side jobs, I became a full-time painter. I currently work in my apartment/studio, in a small town in Irpinia, and I paint inspired by nature and the things that surround me.

I mainly use an expressionist style to create my works, as it allows me to be quick, spontaneous and minimally descriptive, thus maintaining both the "freshness" of thoughts and sensations and an adherence, to some extent, to external material reality.
