As an artist i'm drawn to the interactions i can see in the world. person to person, person to environment, environment to object and all the permutations which lie therein. the nature and subtext of the interactions are the meat to my potatoes. often it is the intentional irony or the anticipated serendipity that draws my eye. it is not the grand sweeping gesture that compels me, but the subtle almost transparent. they say the devil is in the details and that impish playfulness others present to the world is captivating to me.

i also am quite drawn to unintentional irony. a friend of mine afflicted with malapropism phases it so well saying, "the ironing is delicious." i am compelled to connect with and investigate the juxtaposition of competing, complimentary or conjugal forms. concepts and mores that resonate in a slightly off-tune harmonic. dissonance is beauty to me. the order of chaos and the strategy of discord.

there is a performance aspect to the art i create, some of which is un-documentable. often i will engage strangers inviting them, prodding them but mostly cajoling them into my creative space. their presence in the creation of a work is the work. i've said before, quote myself now and will say a...
