Varjavan Dastoor

Varjavan is a self-taught artist whose work is a visceral exploration of nature’s duality, its serene splendor and untamed savagery. With each piece, he seeks to capture the breathtaking beauty and raw brutality that coexist in the wild. His artistic journey is emotional and meditative, a catharsis rendered through line and shadow.

A passionate storyteller at heart, Varjavan often accompanies his artwork with evocative poetry, offering glimpses into the soul of his subjects.

While his primary mediums are pastels, charcoal, and graphite, he occasionally ventures into the realm of calligrams, crafting striking compositions with acrylics and markers that blend visual rhythm with linguistic form.

By day an engineer, by night an artist, Varjavan lives and works in Pune, India where he continues to weave science and art into a powerful narrative of self-expression and observation.
