Rhiannon Schubert

I am a contemporary artist based in Tulsa, Oklahoma, who specializes in expressive works through the medium of oil pastels and oil paintings. My artistic creations can be characterized as vibrant, emotive, and reminiscent of dreams. With a unique and distinctive approach, I employ high-pigmented oil pastels and oil sticks to achieve an impasto texture, resulting in vivid and dynamic pieces. My process involves the use of mineral spirits and brushes, giving my pieces a sense of fluidity and movement. My works possess a unique ability to deeply resonate with viewers, as I frequently draw inspiration from the seemingly mundane aspects of daily life. From the tranquility of my backyard, to the intricacy of arranging a dinner table, or the serene beauty of strolling through a park, I expertly capture these moments through photography, and then translate them onto the canvas. Through this process, I not only use the images as a means of expression, but also imbue them with a deeper sense of emotion and significance. My artistic approach is one of introspection and contemplation, creating pieces that truly speak to the soul.
