Gary Trente

Gary Trente, a talented artist living in Manhattan, was born and raised in Salt Lake City and Orlando, respectively. From a young age, he exhibited a natural talent for drawing. In the 3rd grade, an employee noticed Gary’s artistic ability, which led him to explore his passion in more depth. Following his high school graduation, Gary graduated from The Atlanta College of Art, where he learned how to think in artistic terms and understand an artist’s intention when creating art.

Later, Gary attended The New York Academy of Art in NYC, where he enrolled in the graduate program. Through his attendance at the academy, he learned about composition, golden section, and the human form. Gary described the school as an institution that provided him with all the necessary tools needed to create great art.

Shortly after graduation, Gary started working at MOMA as an education department employee. He was involved in multiple programs, including the Family Films Program and the Artist Displaced Persons initiative. In his early art career, Gary also worked as an artist assistant, director of Gallery Juno in NYC, and a director of the Barbara Gillman Gallery in Miami Beach.
