Painting is like a conversation with myself. My name is Carine, I am 48 years old.
The arts have always attracted me, but the fear of failure and the lack of art education
held me back from diving into it for a long time. A year ago, in 2023, I moved to Barcelona,
where every detail inspires creativity. One day I decided that I have to try,
because "if you don't try, you won't know".
The process drew me in with incredible force. I did not follow certain styles,
I mixed colors intuitively and from the very first brushstroke on the canvas,
flowers and still lifes began to appear. Later, images of people on the beach
and scenes of family’s everyday life appeared, reflecting the values that are important to me.
Images of naked and bohemian girls arose as a response to events in the world and my own
experiences associated with changing and reassessing my personality. Paintings became
a way to express my thoughts and inner states.
One day I came across the phrase: "God guides the artist's hand."
It has become my guide to a world where I can express my feelings,
emotions and thoughts through painting, turning them into my own words.
