I enjoy working with visual narratives as diaries of my feelings and observations. I combine the genres of diary and poster, creating visual stories from everyday life. I'm interested in what still life means today, and I like exploring new meanings within this genre.
I'm inspired by design, packaging, interiors — the things that surround us in the present moment. These objects become a visual code of our time, markers of contemporary reality. I'm also drawn to how they intertwine with cultural traditions and everyday routines, forming a layered context where I find my images and meanings.
I love when an image turns out rough and a bit impatient — to me, it reflects the spirit of our time. I’m drawn to light and color, and I try to explore complex contrasts of textures and layers in my work.
Lilya Niauri (b. 1985) is a self-taught artist from Sergiyev Posad, Russia. She lived and worked in Moscow for many years and is currently based between Russia and Armenia. With a background in engineering and extensive experience as a set designer in animation, she began painting five years ago and has since developed her own artistic method.
In her practice, she combines oil paint with pigments and collage: oil brings plasticity to the surface, while collage adds layers and depth, bringing the works closer to sculptural form.
