Aileen Bassis

New York City artist and poet. I've been an artist all of my adult life. My practice includes bookarts, photography, printmaking and installation. My work is content driven and uses different media and formats to explore social and political themes. I've received grants from the Queens Arts Council, NJ State Council on the Arts, Puffin Foundation and the Dodge Foundation. I'm also a published poet.

BA in Studio Art from SUNY at Binghamton, MA in Creative Art from Hunter College, CUNY, NYC.

I've had solo shows including the U. of Pennsylvania, Ohio University, Brown University, York College and Lewis Latimer House Museum in Queens and others. I've been in group shows at the Queens Museum, the Jersey City Museum, the Hunterdon Museum of Art and many galleries and colleges
