This piece was inspired by the belief that nazar amulets protect their wearers from the evil eye and negative energy and then crack when they've absorbed the curse. This is a reconstructed nazar amulet, one that broke too soon and deserves a second chance to protect the owner from harm.

A Brooklyn native, I spend my time creating abstract pours in acrylic. I've been creating artwork since age four, self-taught for the most part, but I've also learned through my mother and her art. These pours are a representation of myself, feelings that cannot be expressed through words alone, spaces unreachable by humanity. Until now. They are their own contained galaxies, the degree of separation between art and starscape. This is a very flowery way of saying that my main inspiration is outer space, the nebulous void we all occupy. I also write about the stars, and that writing influences some pieces directly. A harmonious cycle. When I'm not expressing myself through written or paint-based mediums, you can find me destroying my kitchen as I splatter the walls with chocolate and try to keep my four dogs from catching fire. A very inspiring and chaotic household.
