This work is an expressive painting in acrylic and oilpaint. It show warm colors and floral and botanical motives. The works of Danielle are intuitive works, struggles on canvas, experiments in paint that are approved by the artist. The paintings “grow” slowly in her atelier. The canvasses are flat on the floor, so that she is able to work wet-in-wet, and with strongly diluted paint. Big puddles of acrylic paint are poured out over oil painted parts, parts are being wiped of and other parts a er re being given extra attention by new layers of paint. During this experimenting with materials memories come above, but the actual action in the atelier is always stronger at that moment !
Colour, composition and light are of great importance for van Broekhoven. There must always be (Dutch) light in the work...as if the tranparancy of the paint is still passing light...as if the sun is somewhere hiding in the painting!
Most of the works have great layering. Various “failures” are hidden under the upper layers of paint. In the final result these failures are necessary, they provide depth. Painting in this way is an elusive process and at the same time it’s a well-considered process in which great concentration and alertness is necessary. Because their are no sketches in advance, it’s all happening right in front of her, and there it is to be captured….

WELCOME TO MY SAATCHI ART PAGE I’m honored by your interest in my work. Here you’ll find what moves and inspires me💚 NATURE AS INSPIRATION Nature surrounds us and lives within us. It has always been a central theme in art, and it is my greatest source of inspiration. My paintings reflect both the beauty of landscapes and the smaller wonders—like a weed breaking through the soil, flowers changing color as they fade, or the play of water, light, and reflections. MY PROCESS I create large, layered works with bold, intuitive gestures. Canvases are alternately placed flat and upright, built with acrylic pours, sharp oil strokes, and polished or sanded textures. Color often bursts across the surface, revealing both energy and depth. About my work A Dutch museum curator once described my painting as daring and determined, with powerful brushstrokes and fearless use of materials. In my process, seeing, experiencing, and making merge into one—each painting becoming as self-evident and vital as nature itself.
