Arta Ozola-Jaunaraja

Exploring light, color, and emotion on canvas, my paintings aim to capture memorable moments. I am a multidisciplinary artist whose practice spans painting, book illustration, stamp and coin design, as well as jewelry and perfume creation. Movement, rhythm, and emotion are central to my creative life: Alongside my painting practice, I choreograph and teach dance, drawing inspiration from the passion of flamenco and tango. These influences often seep into my visual work, giving it a sense of motion and vitality.

My artistic journey has been shaped by a fascination with textures, materials, and forms, exploring the dialogue between intuition and structure, light and shadow. I enjoy experimenting across mediums, blurring the boundaries between applied arts and fine arts, always seeking to evoke feeling and curiosity in the viewer.

In collaboration with Waris Yesie Dzerve as ARTstreamW, we merge two visions into one poetic reality, where myth, emotion, and finely structured forms coexist. Yet my solo practice remains a space for personal exploration, where my experiences as a designer, performer, and maker converge.

I earned my Master of Humanities (Mag. art.) in Visual Plastic Arts from the Art Academy of Latvia in 2003.

Prior to that, I studied Graphic Art at the Art Academy of Latvia (1982–1988) and completed a specialization in Fashion Design at Riga Secondary School of Applied Arts (1978–1982).
