My artwork is my running commentary of my day to day life. My paintings are built around a conceptual figure that is expressed with color and expressive lines or brushstrokes. That figure tells the story of what I'm thinking about, what I overhear or what I've seen. This storyline becomes my starting point of what I want to say in my painting. I would like for someone to look at them and say " That's part of my own story. I see myself!" When that happens, the connection is magical!
I've found my education in art by going to a number of workshops with many talented instructors. They include Charles Sovek, Kitty Wallis, Bob Burridge and many others who showed me the way to find courage in my own painting style.
