Elke Mark

Elke Mark was born in 1971 in Germany. She studied Fine Arts in Kassel, Spain, Switzerland and The Netherlands. Elke Mark is mainly working in video-installation, performance art and photography.The investigation and the crossing of borders and references to history are the main issues of her work."My way of working is based on process itself, on perception and precise observations.I respond on what I am seeing and experiencing in specific surroundings - and from there on my work develops."

She completed her studies in July 2004 with the Bachelors Degree from the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam.
In 2005 she has been master student of Professor Dorothee von Windheim at the Art Academy of Kassel and is completing her postgraduate studies at the Media Art Academy of Cologne in may 2008.
She received scholarships from the German National Merit Foundation and Evangelisches Studienwerk Villigst.
