Jason Kotecki

I’m a professional reminder-er and permission granter who moonlights as an artist, author, and speaker. I enjoy Star Wars, soft t-shirts, and brand new tubes of paint.

My mission is to annihilate Adultitis by inspiring,
entertaining, and encouraging people to renew their childlike spirit and believe in their dreams. I make art that’s propaganda for what really matters. It often carries a little reminder of something important, such as a feeling, a memory, or a great truth.

And whimsy. Whimsy is my favorite.

I find inspiration in pop culture, the nostalgia of childhood, and the wisdom of children. My work tends to be optimistic and happy; I’m not cool or trendy enough to be cynical. I mostly make art with acrylic and oil paint, colored pencils, and my trusty Mac. I love incorporating layers of texture to add energy, depth, and humanity.

Kim is my wife and partner in crime. Together we homeschool our three weird kids and live in Madison, Wisconsin, where we eat way too many cheese curds.
