Hi, my art name is junOmars, derived of course from June Marshall. I hail from Scotland and have now settled in Ireland in the mountainous region of Hilltown, Co. Down. I have been doing art on any surface I could find, sinc I was a little child. If there was no paper, I used the inside blank page of my parents' book collection. I have always felt like an artist; I began my professional career at the age of 14 when I painted fishing boats for a local souvenir shop, many of which were bought by people from all over the world.
I was a member of Fraserburgh Academy until 1971 when I was 18, then was accepted by Gray's School of Art, a branch of Robert Gordon's University of Aberdeen. I graduated in 1975 with a Bachelor of Arts degree.
Along with my two artist daughters, I have exhibited in various locations in Ireland and sold work through Ross's auctioneers in Belfast. I am currently working on specific Irish beach scenes with children playing in the foreground. My passion is for creating light and sparkle and vivid colour in my paintings of children on the beaches of Ireland.
