Kennan Del Mar

Kennan del Mar, based in Chicago, Illinois, is a self-taught artist originally from the Philippines. His artistic journey began in his youth with explorations in drawings, sketches, digital art, painting, and a love for interior design and decoration, all without formal training. Since 2016, Kennan has dedicated himself to abstract painting and figural art.

His approach to art involves blending color, form, and emotion to create harmonious and engaging compositions. Through abstract compositions, mark-making, and figural explorations, he captures fleeting emotions in each brushstroke, resulting in deeply personal and emotive artworks that reflect the human essence and provoke contemplation. This approach allows him to access a sense of automatism without the need to contextualize the artwork in any specific way, resulting in pieces that are personal and emotive. Kennan aims to create artworks that stimulate thought and emotion, enriching the connection between art and its environment.
