Lisa Jean

Lisa works in the abstract, using line and color to connect with aspects of nature & the human experience. Her process at its core draws from ideas of letting go, allowing, and remaining open to an uncontrolled ‘happening’. Regularly drawn to the movement and ever-changing nature of the sky and our earths water sources.

Within this experience of creation, she uses highly pigmented watercolors, acrylic inks, dry pigments, alcohol inks, or a mix on 100% cotton, canvas, or waterproof substrate.

From my early years forward I was given the opportunity to freely create with multiple mediums. Throughout my high school years all of my electives were art focused. Classes included process, design, history, and working with multiple mediums.

The focus of my education through college was in psychology and sociology as I am highly drawn to the mind and human behavior. Woven throughout these experiences I trained in sculpture, clay, painting, and drawing.

Personally I've always had my hands creating. I've played with multiple mediums, researched and studied processes, and am regularly exploring the works of other artists.
