Nazli Akcicek Brush is a Turkish multi-disciplinary artist working on a variety of artworks, from hand fans, to miniature illustrations, to digital works. After completing her education, she moved to the United States where she continued her art career. Nazli currently lives in Ohio. Her work has been exhibited in both Turkey and the United States, and some of her artwork remains in permanent collections in Istanbul.
Her recent works explore Ohio’s historic architecture through the lens of her art education in Turkey. In addition, Nazli has a years-long interest in hand fans, having researched the history of hand fans in both Western and Eastern culture. In 2016 she designed her first hand fan, and has continued to develop this artwork series, designing each unique fan with ornamentation and patterns particular to different points in history.
Nazli earned a BFA from Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University in Istanbul, and a certification in Art Education and Teaching from Marmara University in Istanbul.
