Sonserae Leese

Sonserae Leese, is a native of Southern California. She has spent the last 20 years working in Los Angeles as an Artist and Painter in the film and entertainment industry at Walt Disney Studios in Burbank, CA, along with Nickelodeon, Sony and various other studios. She enjoyed working on animated feature films and tv shows such as Bolt, Meet the Robinsons, Stuart Little, Polar Express, Kung Fu Panda and Penguins of Madagascar. She is an active voting member of the Emmy Academy.

She currently instructs students in drawing/painting and digital art for those wanting to pursue a career as an artist in the film industry. She also enjoys doing traditional art again and selling originals and fine art prints of her work.

She obtained a B.A. in Fine Art from Pepperdine University with a minor in Photography. After studying Art in Europe, she got into computer graphics in its infancy and was one of the few women in visual effects when it began.

She obtained her graduate education at Fuller Seminary studying Theology and the Arts. She currently is founder and Executive Director of Sophie's Dream, Inc. A non-profit dedicated to healing those in trauma and PTSD through the Arts. A portion of all proceeds goes to supporting her foundation.
