Srdjan Stefanovic

I am a multimedia artist from Belgrade, deeply focused on the energetic properties of materials — their ability to absorb, transform, and emit energy. For years, I worked closely with renowned artist Prof. Miloš Šobajić, contributing to major monumental sculptures, paintings, and key projects.

My creative process draws on natural forces — earth, time, space, and especially air — often using pneumatic presses to shape aluminum and other materials. These powerful, invisible energies introduce elements of chance and transformation, resulting in works that are not only visual but also tactile and sonic.

At the core of my practice is a deep respect for the material. I follow the principle:
"Respect the material, so that it will respect you."

My sculptures often evoke organic, fluid forms — reminiscent of the aquatic world — and invite interaction through sight, touch, and even sound. Some resonate when tapped, revealing hidden tones and adding another sensory layer.

I’ve exhibited in nine solo shows and numerous group exhibitions, with works featured in private collections and public spaces across Serbia and internationally.
