Most often I paint with very little forethought, starting calmly, and over time working myself into an unstoppable frenzy where nothing exists, but the creation. A temporary visit into madness, where anything in the surrounding area may become a casualty of the process. That can leave me with a finished painting, or a backdrop for a more controlled thought-out creation that might take weeks, or months to finish.
I love to paint, sculpt, and create art, because the process, and the completed artwork both evoke from me the wonderful feelings, passion, joy, and pride, and to a lesser extent, but equally as important, the darker feelings of pain, loss, failure. “'Life is pain, highness. Anyone who says differently is selling something”. – William Goldman, The Princess Bride
