Ushka I Shakhnis

Born in Odessa, Ukraine and raised on the streets of NYC from the late 70's to late 90's and based in Miami over the last several decades . I am an artist constantly yearning for and searching out beauty in my visual landscape , expressing thoughts, ideas, and feelings through my work. I shoot with manual legacy lenses from the 60s, 70s, and 80s, embracing the warmth and flaws of vintage 35mm technology to create an intimate cinematic at times moody atmosphere. My images create intimate, cinematic, and nostalgic imagery. This work bridges analog aesthetics with contemporary coastal life, offering a study in light and mood while providing collectors with evocative, limited-edition art that makes a statement and brings color to your walls ..

My photography is meant to be an anchor piece that shifts the energy of a room. The saturated coastal colors and cinematic framing give you that instant atmosphere, whether it’s a living room or an office. Instead of flat wall decor, you get something with movement and mood, like a sunset scene or abstract water droplet shot that actually pulls the eye and makes the space feel intentional.

Two week exposition sometime in 1998 on the nature of the beauty of the female form at this dark, smoky, fast-lane lounge space filled with a 70's gritty vibe and velvet ropes in a basement of a Shelbourne Hotel with Jack Nicholson at the premiere in the VIP section seated next to me with the club owner .
