Diana Giménez-Figueroa

In my artworks, I try to represent several realities which are present at any one time. I like to peel back layers therefore revealing other realities or dimensions. Whether they are memories of the past or images of the present they represent a merging of thoughts at one moment. When we look at a landscape or sets of things they may jog our memory of something or some place in a different time. This interplay is what I try to show in my work.
I'm an Argentinian artist now living in a historic town in Spain where I work after travelling and living in several countries: U. S. A., Chile, Portugal and Spain.

I trained as an artist in the workshop of eminent artists in Buenos Aires and Santiago de Chile. Later I completed my studies at the School of Fine Arts of the Universidad Complutense UCM, Madrid. [Spain] where I specialised in printmaking. I attended a landscape workshop in the Mediterranean countryside imparted by the artist Antón Patiño. Also, a batik workshop by a Tanzanian tutor. Later I got training in lithography at Miriam Cantera's Edition Workshop where I also made three artist books. One of the books was donated to the Museum of Contemporary Art At the public National Library in Madrid.

— Mayo 2019: "Muespart", group exhibition of prints , etchings and works on paper in Espacio Cultural Público Art Gallery.
–"Muespart" Prize for the monotype etching "Kavafis Series : Recuerdo de los días de placer".
— March. Collective show at the School of Law of the University of Alcalá de Henares.
November 2018: "Postales desde el Limbo", collective show of postcard-sized artworks from artists all over the world.
- September 2018. Solo exhibition of painting and drawing at the Espacio Cultural Abierto art gallery, Madrid.
- August 2018. A double exhibit with artist Virginia Martinez at the Café De Libreros in Alcalá de Henares, MAdrid, Spain.
- May 2018 : invited to deliver a chat by the Jam Art World'S Association (JAWS)at the Museu d'Etnologia de Lisboa (Portugal ), as part of their Residência Criativa "Rumos"(Ways). It dealt with the mingling of my nomadic life and an obstinate vocation for art thus giving way to a sinuous and difficult artistic practice. Held at the Museu de Arte Popular de Lisboa, Restelo.
September 2017 - in Orense (Galicia) at the Art Cuestion Gallery, "Cambio de Color" ( Colours Change).
