Michelle Purvis

I have been a professional artist since 2005. Self taught for years before going to college, I can't remember a time in my life I didn't explored making things. From mud pies when I was five, to large fine artworks now. I find great honor to be able to tell my story and ideas about life through my work. Making art is a way for me to clear my mind of frustrations and worry and explore questions I have about how everything is connected.

I received a Bachelors in Art Practices, Magna Cum Laude, at Portland State University in 2017.

I have been a member of a cooperative gallery called Alberta Street Gallery in Portland Oregon since 2018. I have sat on their board as the gallery coordinator since opening in our new location since 2019. My work hangs there year round, with special events and shows throughout the year.
