Tsai presents the Chinese classics in the form of modern-day comics. He has interpreted among others Lao Zi, Confucius, Mencius, Zhuang Zi and Sun Zi and made their work accessible to a global audience. Tsai's work has made him immensely popular and has been translated into various languages.
1948 born in Chang Hwa County, Taiwan
1963 At the age 15, Tsai created his first three comic books, thus launching his career in comics.
1976 Founded Far Eastern Cartoon Company
1981 Directed the full-length feature cartoon Old Master Q and was awarded the Golden Horse Award for Best Animated Film
1983 Created a host of characters in comic strips including; , , , that appeared in major publications all across Asia

Recipient of the The Ten Outstanding Young Persons (TOYP) Honor'
1986 Zhuangzi Speaks: The Music of Nature, appeared on the best seller list for ten straight months
1987 The Tao Speaks: Lao-Tzu's Whispers of Wisdom, Confucius, Zen, Sunzi, Dao and other classical Chinese series; were translated into over 25 languages
1989 Zhuangzi Speaks : The Music of Nature published in China , sold over 15 million copies. Tsai's works were deemed safe by authorities
