Valentina Grigorova

I am an artist, boldly experimenting with all forms and materials, in pursuit of one goal - the works I create to carry all the depth and truth without which they not only cannot survive, but would be pathetic pretensions.
My paintings are characterized by its bold use of color, intricate textures, and thought-provoking themes. The paintings often feature abstract impressionistic portraits of people and animals that invite viewers to contemplate the relationship between the inner, outer and the higher world. With a keen eye for detail, my work is both visually striking and intellectually stimulating.
I come to you from a Danube village - Brashlen, from the Ruse region of Bulgaria. And I carry with me all my childhood, saturated with the tales and songs of my parents, and grandparents - northern aristocrats and true awakeners. I master painting in its most refined forms, so even when I only paint with black, the world can be felt in all it colors. And it feels good. Every time. But I can paint not only with black. I can paint anything!
Why am I so brave? I had the good fortune and luck to come across not just teachers, but real artists who became my teachers.

One of my biggest projects is "Lost Music of My Earth" (2016 - still in progress): A series of illustrations, texts, and performances exploring the relationship between music, nature, and human connection; "Love" (2023 - still in progress) - Solo exhibition at Art Space "Brave Creation", Sofia; "Dove on the wire" (2023 - still in progress) Dedicated to mothers and all my inspiring women; "Bruno Ganz and other angels" (2020) - street art ; "100 fragments of the whole" (2020) - Solo exhibition at Gallery “Etude”, Sofia, March 2-7; "Biennale of Bulgarian Illustration" (2020): A group exhibition at the Museum of Applied Arts in Sofia featuring my illustrations and designs.
