Annette Smart

Born in the UK, 1965.
I have lived and travelled all over the world, including 3 years spent in Kathmandu, Nepal; nearly 5 years in Lilongwe, Malawi, SE Africa. Being a nomad has been instrumental in not only the development of my art, but also my philosophy towards life.
My artworks are primarily paintings, but I also practise photography and I am trying to develop my digital art. In 2016 I set up and helped to run an artist led Gallery in Lilongwe. I also organised Art Fairs in Malawi. I have participated in International Art Fairs and shows in Africa and the UK.

1981 to 1983 studied Art and Design BTEC at North Warwickshire College, UK
1983 – 1986 Fine Art Degree course, starting at Bristol Art College, but completing the Degree at John Moore’s University, Liverpool, UK

2001 she gained her Post Graduate Certificate of Education at Bangor University in Wales, UK as a Secondary School Art and Design teacher.
