Anton Paul Patrick Stürtzer

I’ve learned to draw from a very young age, having a strong creative mind. I also was an observer, looking for hours at my surroundings. When I got older, I put that creative streak in my career, working in the communications and graphic design field.

As an adult, going from drawing and sketching to painting was an evidence for me.

To this day, I believe my parents were a great influence in my artistic development, as if it was in my DNA to become a painter.
My mother was a graduate of the Decorative Arts of Geneva, then worked as a designer and artist.
My father was an observer in the Light Aviation of the French army.

Through the course of my life, I also met several creators, who helped me in growing and maturing as an artist.

My rule as an artist is the following : to always be sincere.

Quiet lines, powerful colors

We close our eyes, to go away. Then we open them again and go take a walk. Out of time, out of space, we are soothed by endless shades blue, azure, marine, ultramarine, by all kind of escapes. Dreams that we have dwelled on so many times are starting to spread out outside of our minds. Color escapes, flees but somehow clings, clings to these intertwined trees, these mountains from here and elsewhere, these endless waters, these simple yet essential places. This is like a path to other, new worlds, because here reality has no hold and is lost in the journey, so that all that remains in us are raw impressions and sensations that could be mirages.

Raw impressions, of these places empty of humanity, yet full of life. Settings for stories that we invent for ourselves, worlds that we build.

We climb on these branches, we sit on this bench, we wander through these streets, we touch these snowy mountains with our fingertips. We are anonymous, faced with anonymous spaces, invented from scratch or full of memories, between which our hearts sway, then the brush follows. And the result is captivating.
