I was born in 1978, in Grosseto, Tuscany. I learned the basics of drawing and painting at the Art School of Grosseto: the study of the human figure, anatomy and the rules of chiaroscuro have fascinated me a lot. At the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence I deepened my vocation for painting, I learned the "craft", as in the past in the Renaissance art studios, from the preparation of the supports to experimenting of various artistic techniques. I studied the great Masters of the past, Michelangelo, Leonardo, Donatello... having the good fortune to be able to admire them at the Accademia Gallery and at the Uffizi! Later I became passionate about French Impressionism, Monet and Pissarro, thanks to them I discovered the vibrations of light, the atmosphere, the use of complementary colors, the urban landscape. Thanks to Cézanne and the contemporary master Antonio López Garcia I learned a more stratified, textural construction of painting. My favorite subjects are the streets and landscapes of New York, Paris, Venice, London, but I have also painted many other cities as well. For some years, in addition to acrylic painting on canvas, I've been making watercolor paintings on cotton paper. I love its transparency, which allows me to get beautiful depth effects and reflections.
