Matrice #1 Painting

My artistic career has developed over the last 25 years through painting, collage and sculpture. My work is a dialogue between the abstract and the tangible, an exploration of the textures and forms offered by nature and the environment. Since childhood, my passion for drawing has been the driving force behind my artistic expression, but it wasn't until 2003 that I really immersed myself in watercolour, a choice that quickly turned into a production of free figurative work. However, I quickly sensed a lack: a quest for relief and texture that could bring more freedom to my work, prompting me to redefine my artistic practice. This quest led me to emancipate myself from conventional techniques and explore freer forms of art, where gesture and material take centre stage. This change has given rise to an artistic approach that combines reflection and spontaneity, leading to a creative release towards abstraction. Nature is an inexhaustible source of varied textures and sensations. By observing the subtle nuances of trees, the sparkling reflections of water and the majestic contours of mountains, I strive to translate these elements into works of art that express the depth of my emotions. Each brushstroke, collage and sculpture I create becomes a response to the inspiration I draw from my environment, transforming my perceptions into tangible creations. My work is based on an intuitive approach, fuelled by a particular sensitivity to textures and the marks left by time. I strive to capture the roughness of bark, the delicacy of flowers and the fluidity of seascapes, transforming these aspects into a tactile experience for those who contemplate my works. This exploration of physical sensations establishes a direct link between the art and the viewer, making each piece not just a visual work, but also a sensory one. The environment, with its wonders and challenges, prompts me to reflect on our place in the universe. My creations become meditations on the fragile balance that exists between humanity and nature, establishing a dialogue between conservation and the ephemeral. In this artistic quest, the mysteries of the cosmos also appeal to me, prompting me to incorporate celestial elements into my work. Through my creations, I hope to awaken an awareness of the deep bond that unites us with nature and the universe, celebrating the beauty of our existence and the importance of our origins.
