Clair's painting is a path of humility, clarity and prayer. The quest for harmony by lines, colors and lights is the artist's main quest. Her paintings free themselves from reality by colors offering a poetic vision of life. This passage allows her to return to a certain figuration to give way to the imaginary and the dream. Nothing heavy or frozen in her compositions. The superfluous detail is deliberately sacrificed in favor of a certain atmospheric charm. The drawing is very simplified to allow beautiful colored associations. Love, family and nature are often mentioned. Her paintings offer the spectator alchemy between matter, color and light to communicate a message of joy, peace and hope.. Background : Clair was born in 1958 and her most beautiful creations are her six children. Amazed by the power of expression of colors, she formed herself to different techniques: watercolor, pastel, oil painting and sketches of living model. From 1990 to 1993, she studied at the School of Fine Arts in Nantes. In 2001, the association "Art Lumière" was created where she taught drawing and painting to children and adults. Techniques : She starts with a sketch to define the subject, to find the harmony of the lines and to place the shadow and the light. Reality of shapes is voluntarily simplified to promote harmony of lines. Then comes the work of the material that animates the canvas and gives it movement. It is the representation of life with its cracks and cracks. Then comes the shadow to bring out the light. Colors are juxtaposed in order to be luminous with contrasts. she seeks harmony between colors to find what will guide the viewer to a world transfigured and full of hope. Shapes are rounded to symbolize softness, but colors are bright to express vital power. Among the recurring themes you will find the man along the way, the house, the family, and the tree in his natural background.
