As an art practitioner, my work is an exploration of what is seen and what is meant through the manipulation of fabric as media and as sculpture? The voice of the practitioner, as editor of meaning and message, as writer of cultural interpretation and as mediator of a lived reality of practice explores both provocative and visual themes. Communicated as a 'Way of Seeing' the practitioner, as artist, and audience, as viewer, intimately engage in this way of seeing.
I completed my Ph.D at the Royal College of Art (RCA). My research "Constructing a narrative of fashion practice as inquiry" seeks to examine a visual and literary language when engaged with 'doing' fashion practice aiming to reconcile the tacit dialogues embodied within a reasoned knowing as a knowing knowledge of practice.
I achieved a distinction in Design Practice at Masters level from the University of Northumbria, I have a particular interest in fashion forecasting and trend prediction and remains a practicing designer in the design, pattern making and sample development of handbags and fashion accessories. My practice-based work in the visual arts has secured a number of private client commissions to include a global leader in the fragrance industry.
I have a BA(Hons) from Kingston University
