BIO
Carla Royal, an internationally collected and recognized fine art photographer, started her career as a psychotherapist. Her innate and honed ability to witness, to see another deeply, endeared her to her clients. It was this same ability that drove her passion for photography, eventually leading her to become a full-time artist working in the field of digital photography. Her interest in photography springs from a connection and love of nature and a desire for people and the earth to heal.
STATEMENT
In our demanding and fast-paced culture, many of us have lost a deep connection to the land, to each other, and even to our own souls. We suffer as a result. Our relationships suffer. The earth suffers. Nature gently leads us back to attention, connection, and a sense of place where restoration and inspiration can arise.
My art is inspired by a love of nature. I am a wanderer of woods, field, and water, in love with tree, fern, dropped blossom, reflecting puddle, donkey ears, and riverboats. I love the clouded sky through tangled branches and light dancing off ocean waves. These sustain and inspire me.
