I create emotive, abstract works that embody the reflections of the sea, mirroring our human connection to its mysterious depths.
I am trained in fine art, graphic and textile design, and studied at Otis College of Art and Design. After working in graphic design for several years, I’ve returned to a more tactile method of expressing art. I decided to go back to what made me love doing art in the first place: working with my hands.
I've always been mesmerized by the ocean, particularly the rainbow spectrum of colors reflecting off its blue-green depths. Deep and mysterious as we ourselves, the sea symbolizes all that we hope for in life - rebirth, regeneration, endless possibility. Staring out into the vast unknown, we are reminded of all that is unknown in our own lives, at once anxious and excited about what lies ahead.
My line of artwork, constructed of acrylic on unstretched canvas and hand-woven together with bamboo cord, reflects the unique bridge between my background in fine art and textile design that informs my work.
My desire is to share with you works of beauty and meaning that embody our fascination with the sea, and the unlimited potential it represents.
