Chubirka

Chubirka lives and works in Dallas and Tyler, Texas. She received a B.F.A. in painting, graduating Magna Cum Laude, from the Academy of Art University. Recent exhibitions include "Summer Selections 2.0", at HCG Gallery, Dallas, Texas, The Academy of Art Spring Show, San Francisco, California and 79 Gallery Salon Show, San Francisco, California. In 2009, she was named as a Hunting Art Prize finalist. Chubirka's work has been featured in the visual communications of companies including Toyota, Pepsi, Shell Chemical, Nestle/Carnation, Pizza Hut, and Packard Bell NEC INC. Public collections include The Serpentine Society at the University of Virginia and The Genecov Group. Private collections are held internationally.
_GRAB SERIES
This recent body of work explores the relationship between reality and memory. The process starts with a reference photograph from an event. Manipulating the image extensively with various software applications, I then go about disassembling, then reassembling it. Allowing it to become something new, a new event unto itself.
