David Larsson (b. 1968, Luleå, Sweden) is a Stockholm-based artist and MFA-trained industrial designer. He studied at Art Center College of Design (ACCD) in Switzerland before completing his degree at Umeå Institute of Design in 1995.
An award-winning designer, David has created limited editions of furniture, bicycles, and lighting that have earned international recognition. In the early 2000s, his design practice began to expand into the realm of visual art — primarily painting in acrylic and gouache, along with screen-printing and mixed media.
David’s artistic practice is rooted in geometric abstraction and non-figurative composition, where color, form, and spatial perspective play a central role. His works often evoke a three-dimensional architectural space, exploring depth and illusion on a two-dimensional surface.
Influences can be traced to the concrete art of Olle Bærtling and the optical spatiality of Victor Vasarely, while maintaining a distinctive and contemporary voice. David’s paintings are characterized by clarity, structure, and a refined sense of visual balance.
