David Padgett

David Padgett became interested in art at an early age using drawing as a means to express his emotions about nature. Nature is not only the natural world, but anything that can be observed from life.
Early experiences in the Rocky Mountains kindled his attraction to the landscape, the animals that lived there and the many moods it can relay to the viewer. As skills with brush and paint increased with practice these experiences were later expanded to include other subjects. These include landscape, animals, people, city scapes, and still life. Then it becomes a matter of inspiration and motivation for any given subject.

WHY I PAINT ?

“Observations from life usually have some emotional impact. These observations create images and beckon the creator of art to further describe this emotion in their chosen medium, which may take several images to create one painting. My medium is oil paint. Most of the time I have an id ea of how I want to express it, but sometimes it may be days, weeks or even years before it becomes clear. Bachelor of Arts degree in Marketing and Business Management from University of Oklahoma and Oklahoma City University. Art education includes workshops with Chuck Mardoz, Tom Dooley, Stan Lowenkamp and Ralph Oberg.
