Working in art for me is process of opening and receptivity and at the same time a path of discovery of the unknown. There is a Japanese word Ma (間) which can be roughly translated as "gap", "space", "pause" . It is best described as a consciousness of place, not in the sense of an enclosed three-dimensional entity, but rather the simultaneous awareness of form and non-form. My work aims to express a place extending beyond the veil of tangible form, seeking the space between the physical and the non-physical. Like the emptiness at the bottom of the breath, it is a place of pause, a place of transition...
