Jesse Peper

I was born in Tucson, AZ where I developed an initial love for drawing. My mother was a great encouragement and inspiration to me as an artist, folk musician and all around highly creative influence in these early formative years. I studied metalwork, ceramic sculpture and visual art in high school. I went immediately to study life drawing at the University of Arizona for a semester before attending Pima Community College where I focused about 3 years on drawing, life drawing, watercolor, intaglio printmaking and anthropology courses. I then moved to Portland, OR, where I became involved working with Legerdemain/Slighted and the Pan-Zen Konspiracy Nett-Wyrk and participated in multimedia events exploring work in avant garde musical projects and art, further developing my own style and use of acrylic painting on masonite or hardboard. I also became affiliated with around this time where I began my first online gallery. I moved to Denver in 2001 where I focus all of my energy as a painter.
