Jim Tansley

I began devoting my efforts to painting and drawing in 2000 following a career as a graphic designer. The old story about when you scratch a graphic designer you find a painter underneath is true in my case. The last eighteen years have been a pursuit of who I can be as an artist. My work will develop in ways I can't foresee now. That keeps my going; I want to know what's over the horizon.

Bachelor of Fine Arts, University of Illinois. Additionally at School of the Art Institute of Chicago and Palette & Chisel Academy of Fine Arts.

Four solo exhibitions in the past ten years. Work has been seen in many group exhibitions in the midwest and is also represented in collections in the U.S. and France.
