James Mccann

Self taught, I began painting as a boy in Dundee in the late seventies. My twenty year career as a chef led me to Edinburgh where I now live rurally with my own family and paint local scenery in my spare time. My influences are wide but with a great love for Impressionism and Expressionism. In particular I'm interested in how a painting can give an expression of how the artist felt about his subject. At present my work is a journey through rural seasonality, colour & sky.
