John Hillmer's artwork gets around. His large stage murals have made music with many well-known artists, including Ray Charles, Keb' Mo', Taj Mahal, and Maya Angelou. His playful illustrations and designs have been used to celebrate more than 50 music, literary, and community events throughout North America. He's worked with The City of Santa Monica's Environmental Division, Global Green USA, and NRDC in encouraging environmental awareness. His clients in education have included The Seattle Children's Museum, Committee for Children, and the American School Foundation of Guadalajara, Mexico, where he taught in the high school and served as Publications Director for five years. Today he spends time on both sides of the border, creating and exhibiting his own work.
