Whitfill currently works as an artist and sculptor, in the past he has been a High School Physics Teacher, tire repair man, EMT, College Interior Design Instructor, Fire Fighter, Chess Coach, bar tender Entomologist, simulated diamond salesman, and a Gas Chromatograph technician.
Master of Fine Arts in Sculpture from Texas Tech University in 2006, following a Bachelor of Science with a focus in Biology and Chemistry from Wayland Baptist University in 2000.
