I was born in Caracas, Venezuela in 1951. I am an architect and professor of Innovative Sculpture at University Lisandro Alvarado. During my 35 years career I´ve been a professor at different National Universities, columnist at the Los Andes press and wrote the book “Architecture for All” (Arquitectura para todos) published in 1984.
However my main characteristic has always been my social character combined with a strong desire to understand my surroundings, and that has led me work on numerous projects which benefit society. These projects have benefited institutions that take care of children with Down Syndrome and helped to rehabilitate impoverished neighborhoods. I have also taken part in Ecological Projects, at Zoo’s and Botanical Parks.
I
In my most recent stage as a designer, uses sculpture as a free and sublime way to express myself as an artist. I create my sculptures out of a metal ribbon incorporating the space around the sculpture into the piece. The dance of the ribbon in the air creates a flowing figure which when combined with color creates a spiritual pleasure for those who look upon it.
My artwork has been exhibit in Miami, Spectrum Art Fair, Texas, Caracas, Margarita, Aruba.

The coming exhibition will be at La Caja gallery in Chacao, Caracas.
Alvarado is working on project for The Contemporary Museum of Caracas. It consists of a large-scale sculpture for the Museum entry.
