Jose Maia

José Maia's paintings are the result of many years of study and practice. José Maia is an accomplished artist as well as a perfectionist. Through his technical skill he inovates in the Art Tradition. His paintings aim to delight both the eye and the mind.
José Maia is an award winning artist, both in his country and abroad which makes his paintings an exellent investment.

José Maia has an MA in Painting from Royal Colege of Art, London (he was warded a Prize for his Master's Thesis). He has a Postgraduate in Painting from St. Martin's School of Art (fellow from Calouste, Gulbenkian Foundation). He has a Degree from FBAUP where he was invited to teach. He also taught Painting and Drawing as an Instrument of Thought at the University. He is a Specialist in Painting from Tomar Institute.

José Maia exhibited individually in London at Long & Ryle Art International Gallery, at the European Academy. Also at Soares dos Reis Museum, Casa de Serralves and Graça Brandão Gallery, among many others.
He participated in numerous collective exhitbitions.
José Maia is represented in several public and private collections spread over several countries such as South Africa, Portugal, Norway and England. Of note is FBAUP collection, Peter Langan-USA and Lord Rothermere-UK.
