Julio Cotto Rivera’s artwork was recently featured in internationally published pop art books, ART DES GEEKS with Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein and GEEK ART Vol. 3 with NYCHOS. Julio began his professional art career at age fifteen when he inked and lettered several comic books for indie label Bugged-Out Comics. In Charleston, SC he was voted 'Best Local Visual Artist' 2004, 2006 and 2008. He received two Silver Addy Awards in 2005 for his cover illustration for Barfly Magazine. Julio has exhibited in over 100 art shows up and down the East Coast in the past 18 years, including Charleston Contemporary 2010: INFLUENCE and all Kulture Klash festivals. His first NYC solo show was held at Greenpoint Gallery in May 2014. His artwork is owned by collectors thoughout the world. Cotto's paintings can be seen all over Charleston, Brooklyn and the Chelsea Art District in Manhattan. The Artist spoke at Pecha Kucha Charleston. Bill Murray was in attendance.
