Statement -
I am overwhelmed with imagery that comes from everyday life (mundane), as well as popular culture (absurd) from past and present. Being confronted with simultaneous non-linear recollection from textiles and time, to experience personal narrative from feminine or domestic object.
I take inspiration from found material, memeing, transition from girlhood to womanhood,
“Lo. Lola. Dolly. Delores. Lolita.”
and absorption of nostalgia with levity that celebrates the matriarch with jezebel dreams and vice versa. I delight in the idea of these phases of life and these characters living in a realm without hierarchy and unashamed catharsis.
