Marina Eimer

I am an active artist born in 1958 in Saint Petersburg, Russia. More than 24 years ago I feel in love with the city of Documenta and have been living in Kassel, Germany, ever since. My work is contemporary and abstract. I use mostly watercolors to express myself. When you look at my paintings you will find a lot of symbols and see that I use colors always with purpose to create an atmosphere. I studied arts at the Kavolin studios in St. Petersburg, Russia. In 1981, I graduated from St. Petersburg State Academy of Art and Industry named after W.I. Mucina, and became a certified designer. After graduation I worked in the advertisement business designing illustrations and posters and started to work on commission. 1993-1996 joint work with Aiexander Ivanov (1950-1996). Since 2006 I've been working as an independent artist and developed my own painting style which combines traditional Russian arts with elements of cubism and symbolism.
